Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called on the European Union to impose an embargo on Russian oil.

Zelenskyy to EU: “Stop sponsoring Russian military machinery”
“First of all, we need an embargo on Russian oil and a clear readiness of Europe to give up all Russian energy. The European Union must stop sponsoring Russian military machinery.”, Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian president added that he had discussed Western sanctions against Russia with a group of international and Ukrainian experts who “assessed the sanctions imposed and how Russia is trying to circumvent them.”
He said the group had prepared concrete proposals on how to eliminate weaknesses in sanctions and how to immediately strengthen sanctions so that Russia could feel their effects.
