“We already have information about thousands of missing people.”, he told Telegram.

The Ukrainian president clarified that there are only two possibilities for what happened to the missing persons – they were either deported to Russia or killed.

Zelenskyy says Moscow has changed its tactics following condemnation from the international community following the release of photos of Bucha, where hundreds of civilian bodies were found after the withdrawal of Russian troops.

“Moscow is now trying to remove the bodies of those killed in areas occupied by Russian troops from the streets and basements, but investigations, witnesses and satellite imagery will be used to determine the circumstances of the disappearances.”, Zelensky said.

He said Moscow, meanwhile, was continuing to build up its fighting power to achieve its ambitions in Donbas, in eastern Ukraine, where Russian troops were preparing to continue their offensive.

The government in Kyiv has urged people in Luhansk, Donetsk and Kharkiv to flee to safer places.

Zelenskyy said that until Russia began to seriously want peace, Ukraine “would fight and not withdraw.”
