The US Senate has passed a resolution condemning Putin as a war criminal
“The resolution, introduced by Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham and backed by senators on both sides, encouraged the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague and other countries to target the Russian military in any war crimes investigation conducted during the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”, it is stated in the announcement.
According to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Democrats and Republicans have joined forces to say “Vladimir Putin can not escape responsibility for the atrocities committed against the Ukrainian people.”, adds DPA.
Last week, both houses of the US Congress approved a bill providing $13.6 billion in aid to Ukraine and its European allies. US President Joe Biden signed the bill yesterday.
