US President Joe Biden has called on protesters in Minneapolis who took to the streets after the murder of 20-year-old black Daunte Wright to refrain from violence and demanded that responsibility for this unfortunate event be established.

“This is a really tragic event but we have to wait for the results of the investigation. In the meantime, I would like to be clear once again: There is absolutely no justification for violence. Peaceful protests are understandable. While we wait for the full investigation to end we know what we need to do to move forward: restore trust and ensure accountability so that no one can be put above the law.”, said Biden.

Tim Gannon, the police chief in the Brooklyn Center neighborhood where the murder took place, said the policewoman who killed him in Daunte Wright did so “accidentally” because she mistakenly took a gun instead of a Taser.

Officer Kim Potter has worked for Brooklyn Center Police for 26 years.
