At least 260 civilians have been killed in fighting around Kharkiv since Russian troops invaded Ukraine almost a month ago, local officials say.

More than 260 civilians were killed in Kharkiv, Ukrainian officials said
Among the dead are 14 children, the judicial authorities announced last night, DPA reported.
The city in northeastern Ukraine is surrounded by Russian troops and had a population of 1.5 million before the start of the war.
The city continues to be shelled by artillery, and several apartment buildings were hit last night.
