The plus size model of Dolce & Gabbana is an inspiration for many women in the world
Sandra Violante is a charismatic blonde with a wide smile and a positive attitude, who has lived and worked in Milan for years, where she met the famous designer couple – Stefano and Domenico, and that acquaintance resulted in an engagement that almost every woman in the world dreams of.
“I arrived in Italy out of love for the man who became my husband. We met in 2001, when he was a diplomat in Belgrade, with a special role as a lecturer at my faculty at the Department of Italian Studies.
He often says that I entered his life nonchalantly when I arrived late for the lecture. “I sat directly in front of him in the front row, where my colleagues kept my place because I was the only one who already spoke Italian perfectly and I looked at him with piercing green eyes.”, Sandra said.

Then love happened at first sight. The love took them to Milan just five months later, after her husband was offered a chair at a university in his hometown.
“I have loved that country since I was a child, I have spoken Italian since I was a teenager. For me, there was no country that had a better lifestyle combination: history, great food, opera, culture and fashion, of course. Fashion is always there.”

Hence, it isn’t surprising that the road led to the famous fashion house Dolce & Gabbana.
“Dolce & Gabbana are more than a fashion house for me. Their representative office is in my city, I have known Stefano and Domenico for years. Anyone who has ever been near them will tell you that it is a real family. This is not a random hashtag #DGFamily.”

The great love between them started eight years ago, which culminated with a big campaign whose star was Sandra. The campaign was filmed in late June last year, and the energy of the set, she says, was incredible.

Sandra Violante is engaged as a plus size model, all her activities when it comes to fashion weeks will be arranged at ceremonies, fashion shows, presentations.
“It can happen that I change five times a day, even in a car while driving to the next event. It’s a real circus, but we Milanese love it and we can’t wait for the situation around Covid-19 to stabilize so that we can return to our tradition.”
What makes her especially special is that many women see inspiration in her, and that is very fulfilling for Sandra.
“This D&G campaign had a lot of wonderful comments and reactions, women wrote me thousands of messages of gratitude: ‘She is a normal woman, realized, smiling, not depressed, the serious doll from photography,'” they wrote to me. “is the right direction we need to go.”
