Influencer accused of fraud – took state money and spent it on luxury

An influencer who became popular on Instagram by bragging about her luxurious lifestyle in front of her 40,000 followers is currently accused of committing fraud. The luxurious lifestyle she “advertised” was funded by state aid acquired through internet fraud.

Instagram Influencer accused of fraud – took state money and spent it on luxury

The influencer from Miami, according to the media in the US, managed to access the personal data of the victim L.M.S. stored in the Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Registry and used them to open a bank account in her name.

Danielle Miller (31) has been charged with fraud. According to the Boston Public Prosecutor’s Office, the influencer used her bank account to apply and received more than $100,000 in state aid through the Small Business Administration.

She used the money she received for a private flight from Florida to California and to stay in luxury hotels. She additionally used a fake driver’s license on which the victim’s details were printed, but with a photo of her.

Danielle Miller has been charged with fraud

Danielle posted photos from the luxury vacation on her Instagram account. In addition, she applied for an additional $900,000 using data from other people in the Registry.

If convicted, the influencer could face up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Additionally, a series of negative comments can be noticed next to her photos on her Instagram profile. Some of the users of the social network are angry because she used state money for her own luxury, so a number of angry and vulgar comments are noticeable.
