Despite a unilaterally declared 36-hour ceasefire, Russian forces have continued their attacks and in the past 24 hours, attacks on civilians have been reported in at least seven regions in eastern and southern Ukraine, killing at least three people and injuring 14 people.
“Russian soldiers shelled the southern part of Kherson 39 times during the past day, targeting residential buildings and the building of the fire station in liberated Kherson.”, Governor Yaroslav Janushevich said.
At least three civilians were killed in Russian attacks on Christmas Day
In the eastern Donetsk region, Governor Pavlo Kirilenko said two civilians were killed in Bakhmut and the nearby town of Krasnaya Gora. Seven more were injured.
“Russian soldiers continued to terrorize civilians in the region, attacking liberated areas as well as territories near the Russian border. Although there were no victims, residential and business buildings were damaged, noted the governor of the Kharkiv Region.”, Oleg Sinekhubov.
In the southeastern part of the country, Russian soldiers shelled 16 settlements in the Zaporozhye region, damaging residential buildings.
