In the video, Mila says she was born in Ukraine and has never been more proud of her origins.
“I was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine in 1983. I came to America in 1991. I have always considered myself an American. Proud American. I love everything this country has done for me and my family. But today, I have never been more proud to be Ukrainian.
The events that took place in Ukraine are horrible. There is no place in this world for such an unjustified attack on humanity.”, Mila said in the video.
“Ukrainians are proud and brave people who deserve our help. Our family is launching this appeal to help provide immediate support, and we will be donating $3 million.”, she said.
“While we are witnessing the courage of the Ukrainians, we are also witnessing the unimaginable burden of those who have chosen security. Countless people left everything they knew and wanted to seek refuge. By taking only what they could bring, these Ukrainian refugees need shelter and food immediately.”, reads the appeal of GoFundMe, which has so far raised over $3 million.
