US President Joe Biden has announced that the United States will donate 80 million US vaccines by the end of June – the previously announced 60 million doses of Astra Zeneca vaccines and at least an additional 20 million doses of vaccines approved for use in the United States, the White House said.

The Biden administration’s announcement is the next step in intensifying US efforts to deal with Covid-19 around the world, the statement added.

In the coming weeks, the United States will use its leadership to coordinate multilateral efforts with G7 partners, the EU, COVAX and others to end the pandemic.
“In particular, we seek to gather concrete commitments that can be met by other governments and private sector partners to provide more vaccines, to encourage the production of vaccines and raw materials, to provide vaccines around the world, and to provide health care assistance in order to saving lives and halting the spread of Covid-19, tackling the pandemic and economic recovery.”, the statement said.
