A member of the Ukrainian forces in Mariupol said on Facebook that the troops “may be living their last days” and called on the international community to pull them out of the besieged city.

“The enemy is ten times more numerous than us.”, said Serhiy Volina from the 36th Naval Brigade located at the Azovstal steel plant in Mariupol.
Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry issued a new ultimatum to Ukrainian forces in Azovstal.
“Russia’s armed forces, based solely on humanitarian principles, are once again proposing that nationalist battalion fighters and foreign mercenaries today end their military operations at 2 pm Moscow time and hand over their weapons.”, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement, it added that no Ukrainian soldier had accepted the same offer yesterday.
