On that occasion, statues of the basketball legend and the 13-year-old girl were placed at the place where the helicopter crashed in Calabasas.

“Heroes come and go, but legends remain forever.”, wrote sculptor Dan Medina, paying tribute to the other seven victims in the crash, adding their names to the statue.
