Malcolm James McCormick, known by his stage name Mac Miller, a rapper and producer who began his rise in the music industry in his late teens, has been found dead at age of 26.

The official cause of death will be determined by the L.A. County Coroner after toxicology tests are performed. But it’s believed that Mac Miller died from drug overdose.

Mac Miller was preparing to embark on a headlining, cross-country tour when he died on September 7th.

He was known for channeling his struggles into his music. Mac Miller has been open in the past about his battles with substance addiction.

The rapper went through a well-publicised break-up with singer and girlfriend Ariana Grande earlier this year.

The pair, who met in 2012, collaborated on a number of songs and performed together at the One Love Manchester concert in 2017.

Charges were filed against Miller last month after he was arrested in May for driving under the influence and hit and run.

Grande spoke out publicly about ending their “toxic relationship” after fans blamed her for his arrest.

“I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she said in a typed message posted on social media.

Ariana Grande also said she had “tried to support his sobriety” for years, and was praying that he “figures it all out”.

A lot of celebrities shared their messages on the social media about the tragic death of Mac.
