Matthew Perry has died. The actor, who we all know as Chandler Bing from the series “Friends”, was found dead in his home in Los Angeles by his assistant.

According to initial information obtained by foreign media, Perry was unconscious when the ambulance arrived. There were no signs of violence and no drugs were found. Allegedly, the cause of death was drowning in the hot tub.

Perry was only 54 years old. In a recent interview, Perry said he wants to be remembered “as the guy who lived life, loved well, lived well and helped people.”
Just 5 days ago, in his latest Instagram post, he posted a photo of himself relaxing in a jacuzzi.
In his memoirs, he admitted that he started drinking at the age of 14 and, according to his estimation, had spent about 7 million dollars to stay sober. He stayed in rehabilitation centers several times but was unable to get rid of his addiction. As a consequence, there were a number of health problems.
Perry’s alcohol addiction began to be noticed from the beginning of the filming of “Friends”, when he was 24 years old.
“But when I turned 34 I really got into a lot of trouble. There were times when I was sober. Season nine was the year I was sober the entire time. Guess which season I was nominated for Best Actor? I thought that should tell me something.”, he once said.
In his “Friends” heyday, there were times when Perry took 55 Vicodin pills a day and lost 58 pounds.
Of those moments, Perry shared, “I didn’t know how to stop. I couldn’t stop, because the disease and the addiction are progressive. It gets worse and worse as you get older.”
Last year he revealed he had been in a coma for two weeks and spent months in hospital with a perforation of his colon as a result of overuse of opioids, and wore a colostomy bag for nine months.

The charismatic actor was best known for his role as Chandler in Friends, and has starred or guest-starred in numerous TV projects such as Boys Will Be Boys, Growing Pains, Silver Spoons, Charles in Charge, Beverly Hills, 90210,” “Home Free,” “Ally McBeal” and “Scrubs.”
He has also made several films including “Fools Rush In”, “The Whole Nine Yards”, “Three to Tango”, “The Kid” and “17 Again”.
