On July 11th, Cardi B gave birth to her first child, named Kulture Kiari Cephus, with husband Offset, member of the rap group Migos.
Fans immediately wondered if the baby’s name is a reference to Migos’ last two albums, 2017’s Culture and its successor Culture II, that was released earlier this year.
Cardi B had a different explanation about the baby’s name.

In April, Cardi appeared on The Ellen Show to discuss her pregnancy reveal on Saturday Night Live; she revealed that Offset was responsible for the name. She said: “My dude named the baby. I really like the name. It’s like almost tricky, but when it comes out, it’s like ‘Ah!’”
Kulture’s middle name, Kiari, comes from her father, as Offset’s real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus.
