Drinking water is must-do for everybody because water is life. Drinking water is the healthiest thing you can do. But, if you skip drinking water enough, these signs will tell you and that can cause very serious health problems.
It’s a well-known fact that water makes up 55-78% of the human body. Water is needed to help maintain a healthy weight, flush toxins from the body, and produce bodily fluids like saliva. Don’t create health problems when you haven’t.
Also, many health issues and little daily immunity falls of our body are signs and directly connected with not having enough water intake.
Here are 10 health problems and signs that you are not drinking water enough:
1. A dry mouth
A dry mouth is a very obvious symptom of not drinking water enough because our tongue and lips are almost always wet. Sugary drinks and coffee can make your mouth even dryer, so don’t think soda is a solution for a dry mouth. Always drink water with coffee, maybe it’s strange, but drink even with soda.
2. Your eyes are dry
Water directly passes through your mouth and throat, but these are not the only organs that become dry with reduced water intake. Your eyes also become dry and reddish and feel like burning. People who wear contact lenses must take care of their daily water intake since dryness can cause infections. Interesting fact: without water in your body, you can’t even cry!
3. A dry skin
A healthy organism always has moist skin, since it helps release toxins faster. Also, if you don’t intake water enough, you can do harm to your good looks as well. Dry skin can crack easier, flocks might appear and your blood vessels might become visible as well!
4. Poor skin health
Water hydrates and plumps skin cells to make your skin look brighter, vibrant, and more youthful. Lack of water can cause the skin to lose its plumpness and elasticity which lead to dryness, flakiness, fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin.
Water even helps reduce acne and other skin problems by flushing harmful toxins from the body. If beauty products and skin treatments are failing to improve the appearance of your skin, drink more water to achieve a more youthful appearance and to reduce or improve skin problems.
5. Bad breath
Bad breath is also a side effect of dehydration. If you don’t intake enough water, your body can’t produce enough saliva, which has antibacterial properties that help keep your mouth feeling fresh.
6. Dark urine
The color of your urine is a telltale sign of dehydration. If it’s dark yellow and smells very bad, it carries too much waste. Drinking water helps filter and flush toxins from your kidneys. Also, you may face a higher risk of urinary tract infection when your body lacks enough water to flush out toxins and bacteria. Healthy urine should be light yellow and semi-transparent.
7. Your muscle mass decreases
Your muscles are comprised mostly of water. Less water in the body it also means less muscle mass. Drinking water before, during, and after a workout will keep you hydrated and comfortable, and it also brings water to the right places in your body and decreases the chance of developing inflammation and soreness related to exercise and weightlifting.
8. Premature aging
As we mentioned above, not drinking water enough makes the skin look lifeless and dry. With not enough water, the skin is not elastic and every movement, especially on your face gestures, can leave a mark. Premature aging not only happens on the skin but is most visible there.
It also occurs in the inside, in the organs who are running with more effort to do their job – and this sign isn’t always visible but is more harmful than some marks on your face.
The amount of water our bodies retain naturally decreases as we age. As we get older, we should consciously increase our water intake.
9. Headache
Headaches caused by dehydration can range from mild discomfort to full-blown migraines. When your brain doesn’t get enough water, it can temporarily shrink and pull away from the skull, and that will result in cranium pain.
10. You stay sick longer
With drinking water – your body flushes out toxins. A good example is that your organs work to filter our certain waste products like a machine, but if you don’t fuel the machine with water, it cannot work properly. What ends up happening in a dehydrated body is organs start to pull water from stored areas like your blood, which leads to a whole new set of problems.
If you find these signs familiar, then your body needs more water or you will have serious health problems. Don’t ever let yourself to have dry mouth. Drink water more than you drink now. Here is how much water you need to intake on a daily basis.
